  4501 Pump Station Monitor

Lift Station flow measurement and pump performance monitoring.

The 4501 monitors operation of lift station pumps as the wet well fills and is emptied. Combining this information with the known volume between the levels in the wet well, the 4501 uses patented algorithms (US Patent No. 5,597,960) to calculate the flow into and out of the pump station, and the pumping rate of each pump. Pump activity data is also stored in the 4501’s memory for analysis on a PC with Isco Pumplink™ Software.

By using drawdown calculations rather than manufacturers’ pump curves, the 4501 Pump Station Monitor measures influent flow and pump capacity at most pump stations within 1%.

Statistics show that intermittent electrical problems develop at over 30% of pump stations before the situation can be detected by an operator. The 4501 Pump Station Monitor can uncover these problems while they are simple and inexpensive to repair, and prevent sewer backups in your ratepayers’ basements. For example, you can detect abnormal pump activity such as

• alternator failures • chattering relays • variations in pumping rate • jammed/worn impellers • changes in level switches • stuck check valves • power failures

Early detection lets you conduct proactive maintenance before serious, expensive problems occur.

Standard Features

  • Easy to install. Simply connect the inputs to anything that turns on or off when the pumps are activated, such as elapsed timers, indicator lights, or pump motor starters.
  • Never needs calibration, and there are no level sensors to install.
  • Compact design and ease of installation make the 4501 ideal for portable use.

Applications

  • Sewer flow monitoring
  • Inflow & Infiltration studies
  • Billing
  • Pump station performance studies
  • Proactive maintenance Programs
  • store rainfall data for I&I studies
  • log data from external sensors
  • record alarms such as high levels and intrusion
  • pace a sampler to collect a flow proportioned sample
  • record data on a strip chart or circular chart recorder
  • activate a dialer when an alarm condition occurs

Options and Accessories

  • Portable protective enclosure with built-in power supply, for temporary installations

 Pumplink Software

Windows-based software for Pump Station flow and performance monitoring.

Pumplink™ Software complements the 4501 Pump Station Monitor. Pumplink sets up the data logging parameters on the 4501, and makes it easy to analyze and store information on pump station flows and pump performance.

After retrieving data either via direct serial connection or modem, you can use Isco Pumplink™ as a desktop application in your office to analyze and manage your data, and generate informative graphs and reports for an entire network of lift stations.

Standard Features

  • Pumplink reports for Flow Measurement and Pump Performance include:
  • Total and average inflow
  • Minimum and maximum inflow and times of occurance
  • Inflow and outflow for each fill and empty cycle
  • Number of starts for each pump
  • Run time for each pump
  • Average pumping rate for each pump
  • Data on combinations of pumps

Applications

  • Setup and data retrieval for Isco 4501 Pump Station Monitors
  • Data analysis for pump station performance studies and proactive maintenance programs
